Tantrum Theatre

For those who are not fortunate enough to be acquainted with Tantrum Theatre I thought I’d better explain it- or rather attempt to. It is hard to describe it in such a short space; as Drew Holland put it: ‘there are not enough positive adjectives in the Dictionary’.

“So what is Tantrum Theatre then?” I hear you eagerly ask, across the void of the internet.

WELL.

Tantrum Theatre is a theatre company located in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. It is a company for young people, by young people, and provides bold and cutting-edge performances as well as the presentation of new works. It offers workshops for 5-30 year olds and gives them the opportunity to creatively express themselves through performance in a fun and relaxed environment. Participants also increase their performance skills, develop their confidence, and make new friends along the way. Tantrum also puts on fantastic productions of contemporary Australian theatre and continues to perform in innovative ways such as the recent Pop-Up! street theatre in celebration of its 35th Birthday.
